We absolutely loved our stay at Field Guide Lodge! From the start, the check-in and check-out process was fast, easy, and stress-free. The rooms were extremely clean and cozy, and housekeeping did a fantastic job throughout our stay. The free breakfast felt like a warm, cooked Sunday morning spread and was the perfect way to start each day. We also loved the inviting common areas — there were plenty of board games and card games to enjoy while hanging out, and being able to schedule time in the hot tub was such a great bonus. The lodge itself is an awesome place to relax and spend time while still being close to everything Stowe has to offer. The live music at night was a great touch, and we really appreciated the polite, thoughtful messages letting us know what was happening and checking in on us. Overall, this was an incredible stay, and we will absolutely be choosing Field Guide Lodge again for our next trip to Stowe. Highly recommend!

We got the bunk room for our girls weekend and it was wonderful. It was tight sharing one bathroom but we were able to fit 5 of us together which is what we wanted and we didn’t mind sharing beds. The beds were comfy, the room was clean, and they even left us yummy cookies! They checked in via text everyday making sure we didn’t need anything and to let us know about live music in the lobby bar. The breakfast spread each morning wasn’t a ton but it was tasty and just right (yogurt with toppings, mini quiches, French toast, fruit salad etc). Water and coffee always available in the lobby as well. The vibe of the hotel is super cute and cozy mountain. We had no issues and a wonderful stay. The location is prime- such a short walk to Main Street. Stowe was lovely and had SUCH good food. Highly recommend!

We originally booked just one night at Field Guide Lodge after discovering this charming property online—but the moment we walked through the door, we knew we had to stay longer. Thankfully, the staff was incredibly accommodating and made it possible for us to extend our stay in the deluxe suite for another night. I’d read some comments about the breakfast before we arrived, and let’s be honest—most hotels serve the same tired options: instant eggs, packaged yogurt, and sugary cereals. But Field Guide Lodge completely exceeded my expectations. Their breakfast was fresh, thoughtful, and honestly the best I’ve had in a hotel. The chia pudding alone was next-level—topping choices were just about anything you could imagine. It was such a refreshing change to enjoy real, healthy food instead of the usual processed offerings. Our suite was spotless, beautifully styled, and so comfortable. The bed was cozy, and the view? Absolutely breathtaking. Our stay at Field Guide Lodge was truly unforgettable. We’re already planning to return—this time with our young adult kids so they can enjoy the experience as much as we did.

The Field Guide Lodge is in a great location for anyone visiting Stowe! It’s perfect for skiing, and just a short walk or drive to downtown, Stowe Cider, and several other restaurants. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was included, typically consisting of overnight oats or seeds, mixed fruit, and boiled eggs or croissants — sometimes it was a hit, sometimes a miss, but it was a nice touch. The building itself is a bit dated and could use some sprucing up, but the charming lounge area more than made up for it. Overall, we had a great experience, and for the location, it’s definitely worth considering!

First, the location is a good spot. 10mins walk to the main Stowe downtown but there's restaurants and shops around it so not a bad place Second, we got the deluxe queen room. It was very beautiful. Third, the walls are very thin. I can hear my neighbor, someone walking down the halls, the band downstairs, and I woke up to the room upstairs who are walking too loud like they are wearing their shoes and tapping on the floor. We were located on the second floor. Fourth, the body wash container near the bathtub was completely empty. Fifth, we went during a windy cold winter and there were cold air coming in through the windows. The blinds helped cover the windows so there were less cold coming in from the outside. Sixth, there's breakfast available - yogurt, egg bites, fruits, and some pastries. The homemade granola was good. It's a light breakfast. Coffee and juices were available. Seventh, when we arrived around 7pm to check in no one was at the front desk. They have a ring camera that you could press so they can come help you check in. We waited for a while before someone showed up.

Location is fantastic. Short walk to Stowe village. Staff is not really present, but they are very accessible via text or phone call or ringing front desk bell. We were in Trail House King 303. I requested third floor for quiet, but we were assigned a handicapped room, which I would have preferred not to have had. Shower was tight with fold down shower seat. No real place to put toiletries in bathroom. Our friends were in 203 below us and had a large sink on which to place their toiletries. They also had a console in the family room, which we did not have. Placing one in 303 would be helpful so the coffee and water station can go there and not on the bedroom dresser I was using to place all my toiletries on. The room is very large. Big bedroom as well as spacious family room and large bath with a tub. There is almost no lighting in the bathroom. Could really benefit from a ceiling light in there. The TV in family room could benefit from some cord management as the wires from the TV were dangling down in front of fireplace, resulting in an unfinished look. Would not expect this for the price we paid to stay here. Simple fix. The building and rooms were somewhat dated and could really use a refresh. Community and lobby area was very cute, and we enjoyed our breakfast each day. We had a nice stay but paid an average of $505 per night and for that price I feel like some improvements and refreshing need to be made. The friendly staff made me leave four stars.

Located about a 10 minute walk away from Main Street but a very good restaurant opposite. Very much a ski themed location but still a good choice in late August. Good bar and also breakfast included. Really liked the shuffleboard on the bar area and also the hot tub. Didn’t try the pool but looked good. As a family of four we booked the Trail Suite, which was huge with three bedrooms and a living space. Oddly only one bathroom though so bear this in mind if requesting. Overly hotel is basically a big. Wooden ski lodge so bags of charm and character but probably not to the taste of those seeking modernity. We very much enjoyed our time here.

If you want to stay in the heart of Stowe and be able to walk to dining and shopping, this is a great location! Field Guide Lodge is a part of the Lark Hotels family. All these hotels have a fun vibe. We stayed in the main lodge. The rooms in the main lodge are very simple, the first floor of the lodge is the communal living room. The area is comfortable and decorated nicely, and has board games, shuffleboard, a few fireplaces and hot water for tea. Breakfast in the morning is included. They had fruit, pastries and a protein of sorts, coffee and hot chocolate. In the evening we enjoyed a cocktail at the bar, which has live music some nights 7:00-9:00. There is a hot tub you can reserve for 30 minute increments. We opted to pass due to the weather and our short visit in the area. In the summer, there is a pool, which looks like a lovely set up. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. We did visit during peak leaf peaking season, so it was pricey for the room type, but that’s what you can expect anywhere in Stowe in October. IG- Lentz_Explore
